PRESS RELEASE
MTS Group Chairman Joins Public and Private Sector Leaders at Liberia Chamber of Commerce Business Luncheon
Senior stakeholders convene to discuss Liberia’s growing economy, trade, and innovation
MONROVIA, LIBERIA — JULY 2-025. Mr. Nabil Abou-Hassan, Chairman of the Board of MTS Group, attended the Liberia Chamber of Commerce Business Luncheon in Monrovia, joining senior representatives of the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), Liberia Customs, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and leaders from across Liberia’s private sector for a day of engagement on the country’s economic trajectory.
The luncheon provided a platform for open dialogue between government agencies, business leaders and industry stakeholders on the opportunities and challenges shaping Liberia’s growing economy — from trade and innovation to leadership for economic development.
The gathering was marked by exciting engagement, robust deliberations, and a free flow of ideas — from strategies for accelerating trade growth, to the role of digital innovation in modernising commerce, to the public-private collaboration required to navigate the road ahead. Participants exchanged perspectives on strengthening the enabling environment for business, deepening institutional partnerships and positioning Liberia as an increasingly attractive destination for trade and investment.
For MTS, engagement of this kind reflects a broader commitment to being an active partner in Liberia’s economic development. As the Special Purpose Vehicle implementing Liberia’s Destination Inspection Programme in partnership with the LRA, MTS operates at the intersection of trade, customs, and technology — and welcomes every opportunity to hear directly from the businesses and institutions shaping the country’s future.
Speaking on the day, Mr. Nabil Abou-Hassan said:
| “Events like this remind us of the momentum building in Liberia’s economy. The energy, ambition, and openness in the room — across government, the private sector, and the wider business community — speak to a country that is serious about its future. MTS is proud to walk alongside our partners in the LRA, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and the Liberian business community as this next chapter is written.” — Mr. Nabil Abou-Hassan, Chairman of the Board, MTS Group |
MTS extends its appreciation to the Liberia Chamber of Commerce for convening the luncheon and to all participants for a day of constructive dialogue. The Group will continue to participate in and support platforms of this kind, contributing where it can to conversations that shape Liberia’s economic direction.
